LEWISTON — Norman R. Brunette, 78, of Greene Valley Trailer Park Lot No. 5 died Tuesday, May 11, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion after a one week stay.
He was born in Sanford, May 6, 1932, a son of the late Alcide and Georgette Turcotte Brunette and was educated in Sanford schools. He served in the Maine Army National Guard between 1952 and 1955. Norm worked as an auto mechanic for many years in the Lewiston-Auburn area prior to his retirement in early 1990s.
He enjoyed camping for many years at Beaver Brook and River Bend Campgrounds. He loved camping, fishing, building and fixing gadgets. He will be remembered for helping friends and strangers.
He is survived by his wife, the former Therese Fournier of Greene, whom he married in 1965; a son, Patrick R. Brunette and his wife, Joan, of St. Augustine, Fla., and their children Ryan Patrick and Ashley Joan Brunette; his stepsons, Paul Ouellette of Lewiston, Charles Ouellette and his wife, Gloria, of Greene and their children, Aimee Jean Cushing, Christopher Charles Ouellette, Jason Michael Ouellette; a son, Alcide R. Brunette of Kissimmee, Fla.; his daughters, Carrie Martin and Carolyn Morse, both of Sanford; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a stepson, Andre Ouellette of Lewiston.
