Normand St. Laurent


LEWISTON – A Mass of Christian Burial for Normand St. Laurent was held Saturday morning at Holy Cross Church, with the Rev. Lionel Chouinard celebrating the Mass, following prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.

During Mass, readings were read by Norm’s sisters-in-law, Doreen St. Laurent and Kimberly St. Laurent. The offertory gifts were brought to the alter by Norm’s daughter-in-law Jennifer St. Laurent, as well Norm’s grandchildren, Jill, Nicole, Mikaela, Aubrey, Julia, Nathan and Benjamin. Words of remembrance were expressed by Norm’s oldest son, Rick St. Laurent with his brothers Gary and Randy St. Laurent, followed by remembrances of a special “Pepre,” read by granddaughters, Jill, Nicole and Mikaela.

Delegations in attendance at Mass were the staff and crew of St. Laurent & Son Excavation, Inc., as well as contingents from the Lewiston Police Department, Gendron and Gendron, and Gagne & Son Concrete.

Following Mass, a procession was formed to St. Peter’s Cemetery that included in honor of Norm his own St. Laurent GMC Crew Cab Pick-Up that was trailered and hauled in procession with St. Laurent Construction vehicles that led the funeral procession with fellow construction contractors’ trucks, Jack’s Little Trucking, L.P. Poirier, Morin Excavation, Gendron and Gendron, Romeos, RC Paving, ETTI, Pat Cyr, Glen Dube, Dube Gravel, Longchamps, K&K, DR Caron, LD Construction, Hebert Construction, Simard and Son, General Concrete, Chadwick Baross, Danny’s Towing, Gagne Block, EJP, City of Auburn, and Enterprise Electric.

Enroute to the cemetery, Lewiston Police Sergeant Jeff Parshall and his fellow officers patrolled the entire funeral route with a final salute at the entrance of St. Peter’s Cemetery. Following committal prayers by Father Chouinard, the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Detail played “Taps” and presented our country’s flag to Norm’s wife, Jeannette, in honor of her husband’s service to his country.

Pallbearers were Joe Perryman, Bobby Richard, Casey Reynolds, Mike Labbe, Joseph Mynahan and Jeff Baril. After the service, all were invited to a reception of fellowship at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston.
