AUBURN — Normand W. Chasse, 80, of Auburn died Thursday, April 8, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin.
He was born in Lewiston on Sept. 1, 1929, the son of Wilfred and Maria (Bilodeau) Chasse and had been a resident of this community all of his life.
He married the former Yvette A. Caron Chasse on August 4, 1951; and she died on June 28, 2007.
He was employed for many years as a roofer for Hahnel Brothers until his retirement in 1993.
He was a parishioner of St. Philips Church and a member of the New Auburn Senior Citizens. He was also a member of the Prospect Hill Golf Course which he enjoyed very much.
He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the best dad anyone could ever ask for.
During his last six months of his life, he lived with his daughter, Nancy, and received very special care from his granddaughters, Stacey and Danielle.
He is survived by one son, Danny Chasse and his wife, Karen, of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Linda Caron and her companion, Norman Beane, of Auburn and Nancy Keith and her husband, Wade, of Auburn; six grandchildren, Jason, Dawn, Jennifer, Suzanne, Stacey and Danielle; six great-grandchildren, Gio, Maddox, Caleb, Jacob, Madison and Kurtis; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Suzanne Chasse; a brother, Lionel Chasse; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Chasse.
