Norway board to consider mutual aid agreement


NORWAY — The Board of Selectmen is expected to decide Thursday if it supports a mutual aid agreement between the Norway Fire Department and several other area towns.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Norway Town Office.

Fire Chief Dennis Yates said the mutual aid agreement would be between the towns of Norway, Paris, Oxford, Poland, West Paris, Otisfield and Mechanic Falls.

Other items on the agenda:

• Consideration of request for a beano/bingo license for Stone Smart Legion.

• Presentation of audit by Timothy Gill.

• Consideration of request to close the Norway Town Office at noon Dec. 24.

• Signing of quit claim deeds for the sale of tax-acquired properties.
