Norway Country Club announces new Memorial Garden

NORWAY — After nearly two years of work, the Norway Country Club Memorial Committee has completed its new Memorial Garden and has opened it to the public.

Paulette Tabb, speaking on behalf of the club, said the garden has floral arrangements and remembrance plaques, which can either recognize people who have passed away or honor people who are still alive.

She said that the remembrance plaques feature the names and birth dates of people who have passed away, and they are peppered throughout the garden.

The garden is paid for by community donations and the sale of remembrance plaques, Tabb said, adding that any future plaque purchases “will be used for perpetual care of the garden.”

People are welcome to continue purchasing plaques, she said. “There’s plenty of room for more.”

Tabb said the Ladies Association of the Norway Country Club takes care of the garden and sets up other floral arrangements on the course.
