‘Nutrition Economics 101’ program slated for Oct. 9

LEWSITON — “Nutrition Economics 101” is the subject of a Central Maine Medical Center Accenting Your Health presentation set for 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, in the Chairmen’s Rooms, located on the lower lever of the 12 High Street Medical Office Building.

There is no cost for the presentation.

Mariette Macrander, M.D., will discuss the health benefits of a well-rounded diet, including its role in disease prevention and management, and mood and well-being.

Her presentation will explore the essential components of a healthy diet, the role the four food groups play in the promotion of health and how dietary imbalances contribute to sickness. She will discuss the hype about some “super-foods,” as well as explain why a healthy diet does not have to be an expensive diet.

Those interested in attending are urged to register in advance by calling 795-8448, emailing [email protected] or registering online at www.cmmc.org. Interpreter services are available upon advance request.
