Oak Hill Middle School lockdown lifted; no threats reported

Sabattus police report that Oak Hill Middle School went into lockdown Thursday morning. 

On Thursday morning, a school bus driver reported overhearing a conversation between students about a gun during Wednesday afternoon’s ride home.

School administrators followed school policy and started the lockdown about 9:40 a.m., according to a statement from police.

Police went to the school to complete the lockdown and talked to a seventh-grade student, according to a statement from police. The student was released to his mother.

At no time was any threat made, and no gun was found, according to a statement from police. “Though no specific threat was made this morning, the school made the correct decision and conducted a lock down,” wrote Sabattus Police Chief Gary E. Baillargeon.

Sabattus police do not plan to file any charges.
