Oct. 18 benefit supper among Daughters’ events


JAY — The Daughters of Isabella 677 from St.Rose of Lima held their monthly business meeting Oct. 8 at the parish hall.

The meeting was called to order at 6:40 by Regent Denise Rodzen. Next Chancellor Lauriann Castonguay led everyone with the recitation of the rosary.

Recording secretary Jackie Castonguay read the roll call. Sitting in for Amy Ouellette Newman was Dorothy Morgan; sitting in for Dobie Nickless was Denise Soucy.

Castonguay then read a thank you card received from the Casey family. Regent read a letter she received from State Regent Jacqueline Dostie Smith.

Get well cards were sent to Pauline Brochue and a sympathy card sent to Leo Legere.

Rita Crowley spoke about a letter she received from Louise St. Pierre about holding a living rosary and asking if the Daughters would be in charge. Rita asked the group who would like to help with planning the rosary.

Kim Couture said she would head the reception that is held after the living rosary. Kim asked if anyone would like to make a dessert for the reception. Fourteen ladies said they would.

The Living Rosary will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at St. Rose.

On Friday, Nov. 14 a Deceased Mass will be held. Kim Couture will still be in charge of the Chinese auction. The Christmas Fair will be Nov. 22. Making a Christmas basket to raffle at the fair was discussed. A fundraising committee was formed at the meeting. Gina Labbe will head the committee.

A benefit supper for Gary and Olive Couture will be held 2 p.m. Sat., Oct. 18, at the Parish.
