Oliver E. Baxter


LISBON FALLS – Oliver Edward Baxter, 86, of Douglas Street, Lisbon Falls, died unexpectedly Friday morning at his residence.

He was born on April 3, 1920, in Lisbon, the son of George and Mabel White Baxter. He attended Lisbon schools and graduated from Lisbon High School.

He later married Shirley Lord, also of Lisbon, and made their home in Lisbon Falls.

He worked for U.S. Gypsum Co. of Lisbon Falls prior to his retirement.

He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his dogs.

Oliver is survived by a son, Stephen and his wife, Mary, of Swoope, Va.; a daughter, Karen Baxter of Lisbon Falls; three grandchildren, Edward, Andrew and Bill Baxter; step-grandchildren, Dustin Hevener and Cari Gibson; and great-grandchildren, Sidney and James Baxter.

He was predeceased by a brother, Earl Baxter, who lived in Raymond.
