Ouellette rescues Blue Devils


LEWISTON — Scott Ouellette roped a run-scoring double in the home half of the seventh frame to lift Lewiston to a 5-4 victory over Brunswick in baseball action Monday.

The Blue Devils (2-1) found themselves in catch-up mode on a couple of occassions. The Dragons (1-2) scored the first two runs of the game in the second inning and went up 4-3 in the top of the sixth. Ouellette plated Corbin Hyde, who had walked to get on base in the bottom of the seventh for the walk off win.

Jack Faherty collected three hits for Brunswick.

Dirigo 13, Wiscasset 0

WISCASSET — Ryan Lafleur hurled five innings of no-hit baseball  and drew ample run support as Dirigo cruised to a 13-0 rout over Wiscasset in MVC baseball action Monday. Lafleur struck out six batters and walked none in a stellar effort.

Tyler Chiasson led the Cougars (1-0) with two hits and one RBI, while Lafleur helped his own cause with two RBIs. Spencer Ross and Tyler Gates also contributed with three runs scored.

Waterville 15, Oak Hill 5

WALES — The Waterville baseball squad exploded for seven runs in the third inning, then did it again in the fifth to come away with a 15-5 win over Oak Hill in a KVAC baseball tilt Monday.

Zack Wehry and Tyler Bouchard each belted two hits and had two RBIs for the Panthers (2-0) in a well-balanced attack. Kyle Bishop went the distance for Waterville to record the win.

The Raiders (0-2) were led by Cody Plourde and Josh Prue with two hits apiece, while Cody Provost also contributed with one hit and two RBIs.

Brewer 12, Mt. Blue 4

BREWER — Eric White had a pair of hits and a home run to lead Brewer to a 12-4 victory over Mt. Blue in baseball action Monday afternoon.

The Witches (2-1) put three runs up in each of the first and second inning to set the tempo. And they rallied for another five to make it 11-1 in the fourth frame.

Alec Wallace recorded three hits, including a pair of doubles for the Cougars (0-3).

Wiscasset 6, Leavitt 5

ROCKPORT — Zach Dufour plated the winning run as Wiscasset edged Leavitt 6-5 in baseball action Monday afternoon.

The Hornets (1-1) fought back from an early 5-1 deficit only to have their hopes dashed in the bottom of the seventh by Dufour. The catcher Max Cloutier tied the game with a two-run triple in the top of the sixth for Leavitt.

Adam Landwehr notched the mound win in relief for the Windjammers (2-0).


St. Dom’s 16, Morse 14

AUBURN — Trevar Haefele netted the game-winner late in the fourth quarter, one of his five strikes on the afternoon, to lead St. Dom’s to a 16-14 win over Morse in Class B lacrosse action Monday.

Matt Adams added four goals for the Saints (2-0), Troy Haefele and Chris Finlay added two each and Tim Day, Ryan Lussier and Nick Hatfield added one apiece. Cody Rodrigue made 17 saves to preserve the victory for the home team, which broke a 12-12 deadlock in the fourth quarter with four goals to the Shipbuilders’ two.

Pat Wolfe and Alex Paulis led Morse (1-1) with five goals each, and Alex Small stopped 19 in the loss.
