Knitting Guild

SOUTH PARIS — The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, at the First Congregational Church, Main Street, for the annual picnic. Members asked to bring a dish for a potluck lunch. For more information, call Gloria at 743-7677.

Seniors to meet

WEST PARIS — The West Paris Senior Citizens will meet at noon Tuesday, June 1, at the home of Pat and Fred Breame, Route 26. The luncheon will be followed by a program and business meeting.

Discussion group

OXFORD — A discussion group, “Speaking From the Heart,” will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at 262 Coldwater Brook Road. To reserve a space, call 743-9667. The group is free. Hubert Kauffman, Ph.D. will lead the discussion.

Library hours

PARIS — Beginning Tuesday, June 1, the Paris Public Library will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday; from 9:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The hours will be in effect until at least July 2011.

Veterans’ advocate

SOUTH PARIS — The veterans’ advocate will not be at the Maine Veterans’ Home on Wednesday, June 2.

Legions elects officers

WEST PARIS — Ring-McKeen Post 151, American Legion and Auxiliary, met at the hall on April 27 for a supper, followed by election of officers as follows: commander, Harold Wilbur; vice commander, Jim Todd; second vice commander, Bob Corriveau; secretary/treasurer, Wade Rainey; chaplain, Shawn Coffin; sergeant-at-arms, Wayne Theofrastore; historian, Craig Ryerson; and service officer, Dwayne Ryerson.

Auxiliary officers elected were: president, Dorene Wilbur; vice president, Dian Rainey; secretary, Charmaine Penley; treasurer, Cleo Ryerson; chaplain, Bertha DeHaas; sergeant-at-arms, Peg Theofrastore; and historian, Carol Corriveau.

Lyme disease

NORWAY — The Oxford Hills lyme disease support group meets from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the last Tuesday of the month, at the Progress Center, 35 Cottage St. For more information, call Tracy at 674-3781.
