Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School students will present creative writing work

SOUTH PARIS — The seniors in Pamela Chodosh’s Creative Writing classes at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School have been hard at work putting a creative spin on their work.

As a part of the class, students will have an opportunity to hone their writing and present it to the community in an open reading of their own writings. The “Night at the Library” will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the Norway Memorial Library.

Chodosh’s students have worked together to form committees to make this kind of event happen. The students are entirely responsible for refreshments, publicity and the editing and reading of the works. Chodosh hopes this is the first of many public readings at the library by Oxford Hills students.

All works are original pieces written by the students. Many will also be featured in a book designed and created by seniors Samantha Blom and Megan Anthony. The book will be sold during the night of the reading, with all proceeds donated to the library.

The program is open to the public. Refreshments will be served throughout the night, and the audience will have a chance to speak with the student authors after the reading.
