PARIS – An Oxford man remained hospitalized Monday with life-threatening injuries suffered when his motorcycle struck a guardrail and landed in a brook beside Route 121 Friday afternoon, Oxford Police Chief Michael Ward said.

Andrew Pesce, 29, was being treated at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Ward said.

Ward said Pesce was driving west when he came around a corner near Dr. Rob’s Auto Repair and saw traffic backed up behind a school bus letting children off.

“According to a witness, Pesce swerved, hit a guardrail, and he and his motorcycle flew over the guardrail and landed in the brook,” Ward said.

Pesce was flown by Lifeflight to the Lewiston hospital.

Ward said Maine State Police Cpl. Dan Hanson reconstructed the accident.

Oxford Fire and Rescue and the Oxford Police Department also responded to the scene east of Welchville Village.

Russell’s Towing removed the motorcycle from the scene.
