Pack running for Maine Senate District 17 seat


TURNER — Russell W. Pack has announced he is running for the Republican nomination for the Senate seat for District 17, which includes Turner, Leeds, Greene, Minot, Mechanic Falls, Wales, Sabattus, Livermore, Livermore Falls, Lisbon and Lisbon Falls.

Pack is the owner and manager of A&R Construction Co., a small business specializing in residential and military construction. He also works as the health, safety and environmental adviser to Mistras Services Inc., an inspection and engineering company that operates along the North Slope of Alaska.

He served in the U.S. Army for 13 years, before working in the nuclear inspection and safety industry, eventually qualifying as a nuclear inspector and quality engineer.

Pack has long been active in his community. He is co-founder of “A Christmas Wish for the Troops, which collected more than 12,000 gifts for troops overseas last year. He is also founder of the Mesa Project, a nonprofit corporation organized to reinvigorate Maine’s economy and job market through developing both proven and future energy resources.

He is a Mason, and a member of the National Rifle Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the American Society of Military Comptrollers and the American Petroleum Institute.
Pack and his wife, Rachel, have three children.
