Paris Public Library solicits book donations

PARIS – The Paris Public Library is seeking donations for its annual used book sale. Contributions may be left at the library anytime it is open or picked up by appointment.

Last year’s sale raised more than $1,500 for the children’s collection, and the library’s trustees hope to exceed that sum for the same purpose this year. The library is open Monday and Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The sale will be held again this year in the bays of the old fire station on Pine Street in South Paris from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, July 28 and Aug. 4, with a bag sale on Aug. 11. Nothing will be priced above $1.

The sale will also launch the return of the Seneca Club, a friend’s group for the Paris Public Library. The original Seneca Club raised the funds necessary to construct the library building in 1926.
