AUGUSTA — Paul Lucien Dube, 69, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, Sept. 11, at the Togus Veteran’s Hospice House. He was born in Lewiston on February 28, 1948, the son of the late Lucien and Rita (LeBlond) Dube.
Paul graduated from St. Dom’s in 1965. He later joined the United States Coast Guard, serving from 1968 to 1972. In 1969, he married the late Rita Albert. He worked as a flooring mechanic for family owned Royal Upholstering, and later with his brother, Dan Dube. Paul was an active Androscoggin Hospice volunteer, and part of the AA community. He was an integral part of his Mom’s “Tuesday Lunch” of homemade soup and creton. Paul had a passion in tree-cutting, woodworking, and always knowing when someone needed a helping hand.
Paul is survived by his brother, Daniel and wife, Debra (Talarico) Dube; his sisters, Denise Dube, Louise and husband, Jerry Richard; his nieces and nephews, Sarah, Jared, Jason, Haley, Oneica, Jimmy, Tania, Josh, Erika, Tom, Stephanie and Anthony; his grand-nieces and nephews, Jaden, Anna, Ellie, Mekae, Corbin, Ryah, Ridley, Griffin, Kayden, Spencer, and Amethyst; and longtime friend, and sponsor, Lou Giard.
He was predeceased by his parents.
