1949 – 2016
LEWISTON — Paul John Kordalski, 66, of Auburn passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 19, at Central Maine Medical Center with family at his side.
He was born Sept. 9, 1949, in Salem, Mass., to Stanley “Stash” and Margaret “Midge” Kordalski by whom he is predeceased. Paul lived most of his life in Auburn. Paul was one of a kind, with a Pabst Blue Ribbon in hand, he was funny, smart and a natural athlete who had a quote of his own, “If you can’t be good, be great!” He was a graduate of Sanford High School in 1968, after which he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1968. He was stationed in Las Vegas, Nev., Texas and Korea serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1972. He then worked at General Electric for 30 years as a plater, retiring in 2005.
He married Kim Cameron Kordalski in 1994 (and forever more).
He is survived by his wife, Kim Kordalski, sister, June Kordalski; brother, David and his wife, Pat Kordalski; his daughters, Kara Speed and Amy Catlin; his stepson, Zac Cameron; his sons-in-law, Dave Speed and Dan Catlin; his grandchildren, Harper and Hayden Speed, Blake Paul, Ashley and Haley Alexander, and Danny Catlin Jr.; his best friend, David Shea; and countless others that have been such an important part of his life.
Kim Kordalski and his family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Central Maine Medical Center, Clover Manor, and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the care and support that Paul and the family received throughout these recent difficult months.
