Pet of the week

FARMINGTON – This handsome cat arrived at the Franklin County Animal Shelter as a skinny little bag of bones. He is now lively and energetic and loves to play with other feline friends.

Staff often sees him with his paw stretched way out of his kennel trying to grab anyone’s attention or arm – whichever comes first.

Staff named him Columbus because he loves to explore and discover new things. He and his cage mate, Mayflower, have tons of fun together. They often romp about and play with anything they can get their paws onto. Columbus would be a great addition to any household and a great companion to any four-legged pet.

Kitten season is arriving, and the shelter needs foster homes for litters. They also ask that people spay and neuter their pets so there won’t be so many unwanted animals arriving at the shelter.
