Pet of the week: Casper needs very quiet home

FARMINGTON – Casper came to the Franklin County Animal Shelter as a private surrender.

She had been adopted from the shelter about three years ago and her owners got a new puppy.

The new puppy troubled her so much that she started to lick at herself compulsively and the owners returned her to the shelter.

Staff said she has been timid, but she will go up to a person for affection if he is extremely quiet and she is reassured.

She does well with other cats and would do well in a calm and quiet home.

New dogs at the shelter include a female Chihuahua mix, female Doberman mix, male rotti/shepherd mix, spaniel mix, beagle mix, young tan lab mix and young black hound mix.

The shelter is located at 550 Industry Road in Farmington.
