FARMINGTON — A Phillips man is accused of sexually assaulting two children under age 15.
Michael R. Harriman, 27, was arrested Friday on two counts of gross sexual assault, according to an affidavit filed with the court by Maine State Police Detective Michael Chavez of the Major Crimes Unit-South.
Chavez was asked by his supervisor to observe the interviews of two children at a Children’s Advocacy Center. Afterward, Chavez arrested Harriman, according to the affidavit.
Harriman was being held on $15,000 cash bail after going before a judge Tuesday. He remained at the Franklin County Detention Center in Farmington on Tuesday afternoon.
Gross sexual assault is punishable by a maximum 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
