Pinback to play at SPACE

PORTLAND – Pinback of San Diego, a band that creates a laid-back blend of pop music, augmenting gentler acoustic sounds with contemporary technology, will appear at 8:30 p.m., Monday, May 8 at SPACE Gallery.

In 2000, Tree Records released the ep “Some Voices,” and Ace Fu released Pinback’s second full-length, “Blue Screen Life” in 2001. Between record releases, Pinback toured as a full five-piece band, hitting points across North America and Europe. Additionally, Pinback offered up many tour-only eps, consisting of various combinations of live tracks, alternate takes, and unreleased songs. In 2003, Absolutely Kosher released the lengthy five-song ep, “Offcell.”

It is an 18-and-over event. Tickets, $15, are available at all Bull Moose music stores. SPACE Gallery, an alternative arts venue, is located at 538 Congress St.
