Pineland Farms to host February vacation fun

NEW GLOUCESTER — Pineland Farms has scheduled a number of child-friendly activities during February vacation week, including:

Monday, Feb. 17: Free story hour, 10 to 11 a.m., open to all ages, at the market and welcome center. A light snack will be provided.

Monday, Feb. 17: 1 to 2 p.m., Sparks’ Ark, open to ages 3 and up, at the Mt. Washington Room at the Commons. Cost is $5 per person; tickets available at the market and welcome center. Josh Sparks will introduce visitors to the wild animals he rehabilitates.

Tuesday, Feb. 18: 10 to 11:30 a.m., Natural Paper Making, open to ages 3 and up, at the Education Barn. Cost is $5 per person; tickets available at the market and welcome center. Visitors will learn about trees and the products made from them, and will handcraft paper with natural materials.

Wednesday, Feb. 19: Udderly Amazing Cows, 10 to 11:30 a.m., open to all ages, at the Education Barn. Cost is $5 per person, tickets available at the market and welcome center. Visitors can try their hand at milking a cow, and tour the dairy barns to learn about Holstein cows and how to care for them.

Thursday, Feb. 20: Winter Wonderland, 10 to 11:30 a.m., open to all ages, at the Education Barn. Cost is $5 per person; tickets available at the market and welcome center.  Visitors will grab hats and mittens and prepare to explore the winter wonderland outside.

Friday, Feb. 21: Friday on the Farm, 10 to 10:30 a.m., open to all ages, at the Education Barn. Cost is $5 per person; tickets available at the market and welcome center. Visitors will explore life on the farm and help collect eggs and milk cows.
