OXFORD – Several upcoming events are being planned at His Place Teen Center, 254 Webber Brook Road.

The center’s annual Mother’s Day perennial and flower sale will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at Dr. Terre Porter’s parking lot across from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, South Paris. Anyone who has flowers or perennials they would like to contribute should call Howard Munday at 539-2372, Marion Chase at 583-2534, or Bert Rugg 743-9503.

The teen center is collecting items for the Memorial Day yard sale Thursday through Tuesday, May 25 to 30, next to the fish market, Route 26.

Staff is looking for donated items. Anyone who has furniture, appliances or other items to donate should call Rugg at 743-9503 or cell 890-8032. Items have to be approved before leaving them.

The center will celebrate five years since opening the Phase I facility on Friday, June 2, at the center. An open house celebration and tour will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. and there will be doughnuts, snacks and beverage.

Those attending will be invited to remain and see what takes place at 6 p.m. every Friday. An outdoor barbecue from 6:30 to 7:30 will be followed by a dedication service to recognize supporting churches, businesses, supporters and friends. There will be praise and worship music provided by the inhouse band. The celebration will end at 9 p.m.

Teen Church will follow at 9:15 p.m. Teen Church takes place every Friday except the last Friday of the month because Saturday Teen Church is held from 6 to 8 p.m. the first Saturday of the month. Snack time is held from 8 to 9 p.m.

Teen Church is geared toward the young and families of all ages. It begins with an upbeat praise and worship set by the inhouse band or special guest band, followed by a contemporary message to all ages and closing prayer followed by food and beverage.

Even though it is geared toward teens, all ages are welcome. For more information, call Rugg.
