‘Plaza Suite’ coming to Schoolhouse Arts Center

STANDISH — Schoolhouse Arts Center will present “Plaza Suite” on three consecutive weekends from April 21 to May 7.

Under the direction of Jerry Walker, both suffering and slapstick get their due in this classic and much-loved Neil Simon comedy.

In Suite 719, not-so-blissfully wedded couple Sam and Karen revisit their honeymoon spot to try to rekindle their marriage despite Sam’s obsession with work — or his secretary.

The hotel is also where movie producer Jesse calls on his old flame, unsuspecting suburban housewife Muriel, to have a drink and whatever else Jesse has in mind. And it’s also where where married couple Roy and Norma try to cajole their bride-to-be daughter Mimsy out of the bathroom where her groom — and the gathered guests — anxiously await.

Plaza Suite will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, April 21 to May 6; and at 2 p.m. Sundays, April 22, 29 and May 7.

Tickets are $14 and $12.
