Police seek 4 suspects in Winthrop home invasion

WINTHROP (AP) — Police are on the hunt for four people armed with guns they say forced their way into a 71-year-old Winthrop woman’s home and stole cash and prescription medications.

Police said someone knocked on the woman’s apartment door early Sunday morning, then the suspects barged in. The victim said at least two were carrying guns.

The victim was not hurt.

The suspects, dressed in dark clothing, searched through cabinets and drawers looking for drugs.

Police told the Kennebec Journal they used dogs to search for the suspects, but believe they took off in a vehicle.

Police are seeking tips from the public to solve the case.
