PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — People are already lining up for seats hours ahead of President Barack Obama’s arrival in Maine’s largest city.
Obama is speaking late Thursday afternoon at the Portland Expo about how his health care overhaul will help small businesses. Dozens of people showed up early in hopes of getting good seats.
Greg Howard of Maine Change That Works, a liberal advocacy group, said it’s important for the president to explain details because there’s so much misinformation.
Tea party activists and Republicans have vowed to be outside the Portland Expo to voice their displeasure with the plan.
