Hard-drinking, tough-talking private eye Philip Marlowe (played by David Mason, seated), can’t catch a rest in Portland Stage’s production of “Trouble Is My Business.” In this scene, he returns from a shootout to be met by two detectives. Set in 1940s Los Angeles, “Trouble” follows Marlowe through the city’s underworld through run-ins with sinister thugs, high rollers and femme-fatales. The quintessential jazz-age thriller runs through Feb. 19 at the theater at 25A Forest Ave., Portland. For tickets or more information, call 774-0465 or visit boxoffice@portlandstage.org.
