Pottle Hill Road Race scheduled for June 24

AUBURN – The Pottle Hill Road Race will celebrate its silver anniversary on Saturday, June 24 starting at the Town Square In Mechanic Falls.

Known as “New England’s Toughest 10K”, the 25th event begins with a tamer 1-mile “Fun Run” at 8:30 a.m. A 5-K will start at 9:00, followed by the 10-K at 9:15.

The course is hilly and scenic and mostly rural, well-marked, wheel-measured, split times with water stations along the course. Refreshments will be available after the race.

Registration fee for the 10-K and 5-K is $15 before June 6, and $18 after that date. Early registrants will receive a free race-shirt.

“Fun Run” entry fee is $4

In addition to cash prizes for top finishers, lots or other prizes will be awarded. Race day volunteers will receive a free T-shirt.

Also happening at the June 24 event, in celebration of the organization’s 25th road race, Pottle Hill is also holding a Veterans of Pottle Hill Reunion Race and is inviting runners who have participated in the race over the years to compete in this year’s event. Those runners can deduct $1 for every year they have run in the Pottle Hill Race. The organization will also recognize several runners who have participated the longest in the Pottle Hill races.

The annual Pottle Hill Road Race is Pottle Hill’s primary fund-raiser with proceeds dedicated to Pottle Hill programs for persons with disabilities. Pottle Hill is a 501 (c) (3) organization under the IRS Code. Donations are deductable to the extent permissible by law.
