PARIS — University College at South Paris, an Outreach Center of the University of Maine System, offers hundreds of courses each semester. Most courses are delivered by university instructors online and by video-conference and ITV.
This semester, University College at South Paris also will offer three university courses that will be taught on-site at the South Paris Center.
These are Public Speaking (COM 101), Tuesdays 1 to 3:45 p.m.; English Literature (ENG 102W), Tuesdays 4 to 6:45 p.m.; and US History II (HTY 104), Thursdays 4 to 6:45 p.m.
These classes will be taught at the center by faculty from the University of Maine at Augusta. Center staff recommend that students register early to ensure they can enroll in the classes of their choice.
Students can select from 100 university degrees or certificates offered at the South Paris Center, and people who may have started a degree at some point in their lives are encouraged to speak with a center professional about how they can apply previous credits toward completing a degree.
“We encourage anyone who would like to learn more about University College at South Paris and what we have to offer to call us or stop by the center,” said Director Nikki Abbott. “We will be glad to schedule an appointment with an advisor to assist them with class placement and scheduling. We have an excellent variety of online and ITV courses that should fit any schedule.”
Spring semester begins the week of Jan. 12. Registration is underway and will continue until classes begin. Call 743-9322 for more information and to schedule an appointment with an adviser. Visit learn.maine.edu/southparis for additional center information.
