AUBURN — Quimby “Tim” Marshall Francis, 92, of Mechanic Falls, died Sunday, Dec. 30, at the Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Intervale, Nov. 8, 1920, the son of Elroy and Hazel Briggs Francis. He attended schools in Dixfield and had worked as a machinist in Connecticut for 20 years. He had been the groundskeeper at Bucknam Oaks in Mechanic Falls.
He married Janice “Dale” Harding on Aug. 21, 1983. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 150 in Mechanic Falls and the VFW in Rumford. He was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and four-wheeling. He especially enjoyed spending time with his ever growing family.
He is survived by his wife of Mechanic Falls; his children, Randal Madore of Mechanic Falls, Marshall Francis and his wife, Tracy, of Oxford, Gerald Francis and his wife, Yong-i, of Peru, Christine Ryan and her husband, Kenny, of Manchester, N.H., and Lawrence Francis and his wife, Denise, of Mexico; stepchildren, Scott Jones and his companion, Valarie, of Minot, Brenda Jones and her companion, Jeff, of Oxford and Brian Jones and his wife, Jean, of Florida; he has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Florence Wright of Jay and Christine Huffman of Milford, Conn.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Crystal; and two brothers, Harry Francis and Harlan Francis.
