Rachel W. Marquis


LEWISTON – Rachel W. Marquis, 72, of Lewiston passed away after a brief illness at Russell Park Manor on Friday, July 13.

She was born in Leeds on May 18, 1935, a daughter of the late Edmond and Verdi Wing.

Rachel went on to become a CNA and work for many years at Russell Park Manor. She enjoyed knitting and above all, loved her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Rachel was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was well loved and known by all at Russell Park Manor.

She is survived by her five loving children, sons, Eugene Hanna of Auburn, and Alan Hanna of Lewiston, her daughters, Audrey Pannier and husband of Ashville, Ohio, Theresa Johnson and husband of Harrisburg, Va., and Cindy Dumont and husband of Auburn; two brothers, David Wing of Tacoma, Wash., and Loring Wing of Auburn; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Armand Joseph Marquis, on June 27, 1998; and by a sister, Flora Soper.
