Rangeley to present “Arsenic and Old Lace”


RANGELEY — Rangeley Friends of the Arts will present a community theater production of “Arsenic and Old Lace” Friday to Sunday, Aug. 14, 15 and 16, at the RFA Lakeside Theater, 2493 Main St. 

Reserved tickets are $15.

The farcical black comedy is one of the longest-running Broadway hit shows, with the action revolving around the once-proud Brewster Family, descendants of the Mayflower but now composed of homicidal maniacs. The hero, Mortimer Brewster, is a drama critic who must deal with his crazy family and local police in Brooklyn, N.Y., as he debates whether to go through with his recent promise to marry the woman he loves.

The show is directed by Tim Straub and will showcase Rangeley’s local character actors and actresses in iconic roles.
