Rare public servant

It has been said that the difference between a politician and a statesman is that a politician only looks to the next election, while a statesman looks to the next generation. By this measure, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Steve Rowe has proven to be a true statesman in a field of politicians.

As attorney general, he could have turned that office into his personal public relations machine, spending all his time catering to the media rather than serving the people of Maine. Instead, he took his office seriously, working tirelessly behind the scenes to lower prescription drug costs, fight against domestic violence and combat elder financial exploitation.

Steve Rowe has proven that he is a rare public servant who genuinely puts the needs of Mainers above any political ambitions, and can be trusted to make the difficult decisions that will be required of our next governor.
