Raymond A. Cyr


LEWISTON — Raymond A. Cyr, 83, formerly of Sabattus and Lewiston, died Saturday, Jan. 12, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in St. Mathias, Canada, Feb. 10, 1929, a son of the late Beloni and Dora (Caron) Cyr.

Raymond was a handsewer for many years for local shoe shops and later worked as a security guard for Ace Security. He was a member of Holy Cross Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching hockey, playing guitar and the violin.

Raymond is survived by his three sons, Paul Cyr and wife, Marie, of Lewiston, Roger Cyr of Lewiston and Jerry Cyr and wife, Sally, of Poland; six grandchildren, Melinda Cyr, Jimmy Cyr, Joshua Cyr, Bryant Cyr, Chelsea Noella Cyr and Troy Cyr; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Noella; and his second wife, Yolande.
