PARIS – The Rape Crisis and Education Hotline, REACH, will present Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues,” on April 9 and 11, at Oxford Hills High School, as a part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month across the nation.

Performed worldwide since 2002, the show is both a condemnation of violence against girls and women, and a moving celebration of their bodies and sexuality. It provides frank, humorous and moving stories common to the experiences of girls and women around the world.

The production will be directed by Amanda Huotari, actress, teaching artist and the executive director of Celebration Barn Theater.

The monologues will be read by girls and women, ages 15 to 70, from local Maine communities who have stepped forward to raise awareness and their voices against violence to girls and women.

Women, men and older teens are  to attend “The Vagina Monologues” at 7 p.m. on April 9 and at 2 p.m. on April 11, at the Forum, Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Tickets, $12 in advance, $15 at the door,  are available at Books N Things in Norway and Bethel, and at the REACH office in South Paris.
