Refund information not available

Dear Sun Spots: I had a membership card from the Movie Bank at 984 Sabattus St. It was like a debit card which you put so much money into your account and every time you rent a movie it would be deducted off the card. The Movie Bank has since gone out of business. Is there any way I can get a refund on the balance left on my card? I have been unable to get in touch with the former owners. – No Name, Lewiston.

Answer:
Sun Spots e-mailed and phoned Movie Bank USA, who’s Web site still lists the Sabattus Street location. At the time of publication, we have not received a response and will update you when we have more information.

Dear Sun Spots: So grateful to Sun Spots for all the most excellent help that we receive. We would appreciate your assistance in locating a collector of vintage model cars. Hope to locate someone who could evaluate them and for furnishing us information for marketing a small collection. Many thanks. – R. Arsenault, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: Special thanks for the great job you do. Could you please print the recipe for white chocolate raspberry squares, requested by the kind ladies of Parish of the Holy Savior in Rumford, who recently set up for an after-funeral lunch.

Their kindness was appreciated. – No Name, No Town.

Ingredients: 1¼ cups quick oats, uncooked; 1¼ cups flour; ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar; 1 teaspoon baking powder; ¼ teaspoon salt; 1¾ sticks margarine, melted; 1 cup raspberry jam or preserves; ¾ cup white chocolate chips; nuts, optional.

Method: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Stir in margarine until mixture is crumbly. Reserve one cup crumb mixture, set aside. Press remaining crumb mixture onto bottom of 8″ square pan. Bake for 10 minutes.

Spread raspberry fruit over baked crust within ¼ inch of edges. Sprinkle white chocolate chips over fruit. Add reserved crumb mixture on top. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool completely and cut into squares.

Dear Sun Spots: In response to the request for a remedy for ants, I have one. One cup of 20 Mule Team brand Borax mixed with ½ cup of sugar. An old remedy and works for me very well. – No Name, Auburn.
