MEXICO — The Stephens High School Class of 1954 will meet for a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, at the Covered Wagon. Members and guests are welcome.
FARMINGTON — A yard sale, plant sale and bake sale will be held Saturday, May 22, at the Trinity Church, Farmington Falls Road, beginning at 8 a.m.
Tables are available with a 10 percent commission to benefit the Care and Share Food Closet. Donations will be accepted on Friday, May 21, with proceeds going to the food closet. The bake sale is hosted by the United Methodist Women with proceeds going to the Special Olympics.
The plant sale is hosted by experienced gardeners at the church; annuals, perennials, herbs, shrubs and more will be available for a reasonable price. All are welcome.
WILTON — Friendship Squares and Swingin’ Bears will co-host an easy mainstream square dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Cushing School. The caller will be George McGibbon and the cuer, Bernie Porter. All are welcome.
WEST PARIS — There will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m. Friday, May 21, at the First Universalist Church. There is no charge. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share.
NAPLES — The Lake Region Project Graduation Committee will host a chicken barbecue from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 21, in the high school gymnasium. The menu includes chicken, beans, cole slaw, macaroni salad or potato salad, corn bread, lemonade or ice tea and dessert. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under age 12.
Tickets are available at DownEast Engraving in Naples, Hayes True Value Hardware in Bridgton and the school office. The “Time is Money” raffle drawing will also be held at the event.
RUMFORD — A spring flea market and bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 21, at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.
WATERVILLE — The Maine Poets Society will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Fireside Inn Suites, 356 Main St. A $13 registration fee includes lunch.
After a business meeting, member judge Woody Woodsum will critique society members’ poems on “Simplicity,” then read from his own work. Following lunch, guest judge Wesley McNair will critique members’ pantoums.
