LEWISTON — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will sponsor the 17th annual Maine Garden Day from 7 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at Lewiston High School, 156 East Ave.
The event will feature more than 35 gardening workshops from local gardening experts, a trade show with educational displays as well as plants, seeds and tools for purchase.
Participants may register for half-day or quarter-day workshops. Some of the workshops will include Companion Planting, Plants That Heal, Better Garlic in the Home Garden, Are you Thinking About Bee Keeping?, Shad and Fruit Tree Pruning, Growing Sweet Potatoes in the North, Painting Florals in Watercolor, Botany for Gardeners, Vegetables Like it Hot and Raising Poultry for Eggs or Meat.
The first 400 registrations will be accepted. Seating is limited in some workshops so it will be first-come, first-served.
