PORTLAND — In celebration of spring, songs of love and nature will be presented by Renaissance Voices on Saturday, May 8, at Immanuel Baptist Church.
The 21-voice a cappella ensemble, directed by internationally known organist and composer Harold Stover, will sing works by Thomas Weelkes, Robert Schumann and Paul Hindemith. Also featured will be songs by George Gershwin, Jerome Kern and Richard Rodgers from “The Great American Songbook.”
The concert will begin at 8 p.m. Admission is $15 at the door. Discount tickets, $12, are available in advance at www.renaissance voices.org, Starbird Music in Portland and Books, Etc. in Portland and Falmouth. Students with a valid ID pay $5.
The church is on High Street, across from the Eastland Hotel.
