Resident art exhibit

Doris Powers, pictured, and Hope Weston thought it would be nice for the residents of Schooner Estates in Auburn to get to know each other a little better. They formed a steering committee to plan an art exhibit. When asked why an art exhibit, Weston said, “When you look at an older adult you don’t always realize what they have accomplished in their life. This way you get to know what’s behind that person.” The exhibits consisted of wood carvings, hooked rugs, stained glass, quilts, knit items, authentic holiday costumes from Latvia, Estonia and Germany and hand-carved model ships.
