RUMFORD — In the new public health infrastructure, Fryeburg and the surrounding towns of Oxford County are assigned to the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition. The coalition will conduct a community health forum that collects important information on the health status of the Fryeburg area communities. The event will take place at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 29, at the Molly Ockett Middle School in Fryeburg. There is no cost to attend and supper will be served.
The forum will bring municipalities, schools, community agencies and organizations, health care providers and interested citizens together to identify and address the health related needs of our community.
Topics may include neighborhood safety issues, area schools and opportunities for youth, local public health issues and options, area environmental concerns, local development and small business expansion and community announcements from local cultural and civic organizations.
The community health forum will give participants a voice to address issues that influence health and well-being across the lifespan from prenatal care to old age. It will particularly emphasize matters affecting the most vulnerable and excluded groups or individuals.
In addition to sharing information, the forum will provide an opportunity for interested and concerned citizens to offer ideas and suggestions on how the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition can best promote a healthy community.
