GREENE – Graveside committal prayers for Richard L. “Dick” Durgin, who died May 10, were held Monday morning at the Valley Cemetery with Pastor Bob Harris presiding.

Following prayers, the U.S. Navy honor detail from Brunswick Naval Air Station played “Taps” and presented our country’s flag to his daughter, Terry Whalen.

Representatives in attendance from the Auburn VFW 1603 were Jim Lawlor and Dan Linscott, and representatives in attendance from New Auburn American Legion Post 153 were Rene Plourde, past commander, and Dick Brown.

A reception of fellowship followed the service at the home of Helen Hewins of Greene.
