RUMFORD — 49 Franklin’s Mystic Theater will welcome the Teacher’s Lounge Mafia, an improv group known for its skillful ridiculousness, on Saturday, Jan. 12.

The troupe performs comedic scenes and games ranging from the guessing games of “Family Reunion” to the audience participatory “Pillars,” to the sprawling stories of “Clickable.” Each game relies on audience suggestions to provide inspiration for what comes next.

Making up Teacher’s Lounge Mafia are comic actors Jeff Bailey, Natalie Simmons, Dan Ryder and Kyla Wheeler. They take inspiration from “Saturday Night Live,” “Upright Citizens Brigade,” “Whose Line Is It Anyway” and “P.G. Wodehouse,” as well as their own comic stylings.

There is a limited amount of tickets for the 8 p.m. performance, which contains mature content. Tickets, $7, are available at Bartash’s and All That Jazz on Congress Street. Doors open at 7 p.m. when there will be a cash bar and snacks will be available for purchase. The Mystic Theater entrance is by the upper back parking lot at 49 Franklin.
