Farmington – Rita D. LaBrecque, 79, a resident of River Road in Livermore, died Wednesday, April 12, at Franklin Memorial Hospital shortly after arrival. She had been residing for a short time at Sandy River Nursing Home in Farmington.

She was born in Jay on Aug. 2, 1926, the daughter of Joseph and Laura (Guerin) Therrien and was a 1944 graduate of Jay High School. On June 24, 1947, she married Lawrence “Lab” LaBrecque at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. He passed away on Dec. 12, 2001.

They had made their home on the River Road for 34 years. She and her family were always very active during the winter months, snow machining, skiing and spending time with extended family. She and her husband were active members of the Spruce Mountain Ski Slope in Livermore.

She also enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage and always welcomed company to her home to come in and have coffee and to catch up on the latest gossip.

She is survived by four sons, Larry and his wife, B.J. LaBrecque of Temple, Michael and his wife, Joyce LaBrecque of Livermore Falls, Peter LaBrecque and his companion, Rhonda Pomerleau, of Farmington and Tim and his wife, Stephanie LaBrecque of North Jay; four sisters, Theodora Gallant of Canton, Yvette Maillett of Livermore, Jeannette Roy and her husband, Raoul, of Jay and Claire Parker and her husband, Dick, of Livermore; two brothers, Norman Therrien and his wife, Claire, of Jay and Francis Therrien and his wife, Lou, of Livermore Falls; a grandson, Jason LaBrecque and his wife, Rachel; six granddaughters, Alison Bennett and her husband, Stan, Amanda Hreben and her husband, Mark, Brianna LaBrecque, Whitney LaBrecque, LaTara Dunn and Adelle LaBrecque; six great-grandchildren, Zachary and Dustin Donahue, Andrew and Jacob Bennett, Tyler Hreben and Kai LaBrecque; sisters-in-law, Virginia LaFleur of Mt. Vernon and Sandra Chretien of Livermore Falls; and many, many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Leo, Reney, Ronald and Roland Therrien; brothers-in-law, Raymond LaBrecque and Norris LaBrecque.
