Rite Aid robber flees with OxyContin


NAPLES — Police were searching Monday night for a man who robbed the Rite Aid pharmacy on Route 302 in the late afternoon.

A statement from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department said a white male entered the store at 665 Roosevelt Trail at about 5:30 p.m. Monday and showed a note to the pharmacist demanding drugs and implying he had weapon. After being given an unknown amount of OxyContin, the man fled on foot.

The man is described as being about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, between 125 and 145 pounds and wearing a camouflage gortex military jacket, sunglasses, dark knit stocking cap, light-colored jeans, white sneakers and black gloves with white edging.

Sheriff’s Department detectives, patrol deputies with trained dogs are investigating, the statement said.
