Baby-sitting class

DIXFIELD — Girl Scouts of Maine will offer a Baby-sitting 101 training program for girls in grades six to eight in the Dixfield/Peru area. The program will include getting a baby-sitting business started, playtime ideas, understanding the likes and dislikes of children, troubleshooting and solutions to common problems and Baby-sitting 101 certification

The program will be held from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, June 8 and 9. The cost of the program is $5 for currently registered Girl Scouts and $17 for non-Girl Scouts, which includes a $12 Girl Scout membership fee. Membership assistance is available for the fee.

Class lunch

RUMFORD — The Stephens High School Class of 1950 is invited to meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 17, at The River Valley Grill.

Open house

MEXICO — A home schooling open house and project fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Mexico Town Hall on Main Street. Students will have projects on display from many subject areas and parents will be on hand to answer questions about home schooling. There will be door prizes and sample curriculum.
