Peru residents Angela Barkhouse, right, and Bud Brown had a buzz of activity on Tuesday afternoon. A helicopter from Rotor Blade, a vegetation management company from Georgetown, S.C., trimmed trees along the power line between the Valley Road and Ridge Road by dropping a large circulating blade from the helicopter. The company is contracted through Asplundh Tree Expert Co. and Central Maine Power Co. to help clear vegetation on local power lines and will be working in the area for the next week.

CMP
Wants to upgrade it's powerline but pays no attention to maintaining work that needs to get done on local lines and poles. On High St. Rumford a pole that was hit this past winter and is splitting has not been replaced yet along with another pole that has cannister on top that is leaning so bad that it is a matter of time when this will fall over. They have been reported multiple times with no results. Maybe the town needs to hold back lighting payments until CMP starts repairing what needs to be repaired. They over charge and we get nothing in return but poor service.
