PARIS – Stephens Memorial Hospital has announced that the Riverside Trail, a trail linking the Viking Trail at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and the trail at the Oxford Hills Middle School, will be officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at the trailhead by Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Community members are welcome to join students at the middle school at 8:45 a.m. who will be walking to the area of presentation at the high school.
The project was made possible through a grant to Stephens Memorial Hospital from the New Balance Foundation. The completed Riverside Trail is just over one mile long. There will be refreshments following the ribbon cutting at the high school.
One of the goals of this project is to encourage healthy lifestyles with exercise, especially for youth. The trails offer another venue for the community to walk and enjoy the outdoors.
