GARDINER — Maine Event Comedy presents comedian Rob Steen at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Hall.
The show will also feature New Hampshire’s Greg Boggis, Portland’s Ali Simpson and host Mark Turcotte.
Steen has been drawing crowds since becoming a street performer in Boston at age 12. He thrives on crowd participation and, over the past 30 years, his high-energy, fast-paced comedy has entertained audiences throughout the country.
He has performed at legendary comedy clubs, including Caroline’s on Broadway, The Laugh Factory and Comic Strip Live. Steen was twice featured on the “Stupid Human Trick” segment on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” and regularly produces comedy shows throughout the Northeast.
Boggis hails from Milford, N.H., and has taken his casual blend of current events and unique observations to comedy clubs, colleges, benefits and corporate shows across the country. He hosts his own television show, “The Boggis Hour,” which features guests from the world of comedy and beyond.
Simpson, a mainstay of the Portland comedy scene, zigzags across New England to perform comedy everywhere from ImprovBoston to the Shaskeen in New Hampshire, to some deserted pizza place in a Vermont ski town.
Turcotte has performed at New York City’s Gotham Comedy Club and been selected to perform at comedy festivals in Boston, Cleveland and North Carolina.
Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center is at 280 Water St.
Tickets are $16 for adults or $14 for seniors, and can be purchased at www.johnsonhall.org.
The show is for those 21 or older. Doors open at 7 p.m.
