Robbery suspect sketch issued


LEWISTON – Lewiston police have released a composite sketch of the suspect in Saturday’s robbery at Rainbow Federal Credit Union at 381 Main St.

The suspect, who walked into the bank shortly before the noon closing time and demanded money from a teller, is described as a white male, 20 to 25 years old, with a slender stature, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and between 125 and 150 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair, and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a dark baseball cap when he entered the bank.

The man fled the area after the teller handed over an unspecified amount of cash and has since eluded police.

No one was hurt in the robbery, even though there were employees and customers in the building at the time.
